At Westford Academy, we take tremendous pride in our Junior Varsity and underclassmen games. These contests represent the foundation and future of our program, and this past week both of our teams showed just how bright that future looks.

On Friday afternoon, the JV-B team earned a hard-fought 22–20 victory over Billerica. Freshman quarterback TJ Kane took command of the offense, making plays both through the air and on the ground. He connected with Trevor Gilbert for two scores, while Michael Bonenfant and Eli Juris powered the ground game with tough, physical runs that kept the Ghosts moving forward.

Then on Monday, the JV-A team followed up with a dominant 33–6 win. Running back Cam Croom set the tone early, breaking loose for multiple runs of 50+ yards. Quarterback Joey Guthrie found Nolan Kropp for several explosive gains, a connection fans can expect to hear plenty about over the next three seasons. Kropp also made his presence felt on defense, returning an interception for a pick-six that brought the Haunted House to life.

The battle in the trenches was won by our offensive and defensive lines, led by Jared Chrome, Bernie Lang, Alex Luhrs, and Tommy Bonenfant. Defensively, the linebacker duo of John Maietta and Kieran Donahue flew all over the field, shutting down Billerica’s attack. Speed threat Zach Olander added to the fireworks with a highlight-reel 60-yard touchdown reception.

These back-to-back victories are more than just wins—they are proof of the commitment, talent, and work ethic being built at every level of Westford Academy Football. The underclassmen continue to showcase the grit and potential that will fuel the Ghosts for years to come.
