Chasing Victory: Ghosts Set for a Senior Night Showdown




On Friday, the Ghosts traveled to Leominster for an intense matchup. Westford Academy entered the game riding the momentum of a recent win, while Leominster was looking to bounce back from a loss. The stadium was packed with spectators, including a large, neon-clad crowd from Westford Academy, eager to cheer on their football team. Adding to the excitement, influencer AJ Greene made his first trip to Massachusetts to watch the game, drawing even more attention.


The game started off strong for WA, the Ghosts took an early 10-0 lead with just over 3 minutes remaining in the first quarter, thanks to a 55-yard run by QB Alex Wilson and a 33-yard kick by Ryan Kyle.


Leominster took the lead going into halftime and did not lose it again.  Despite a hard-fought effort, Westford Academy ultimately fell to Leominster, with the Blue Devils securing a 42-33 victory.


Even in defeat, several players from Westford Academy stood out with impressive performances. Wilson finished the night 10-for-14 for 156 yards and 146 yards on the ground. He connected on TD passes of 46 and 30 yards to Ryan Kyle. Running back Jesse Moran totaled 120 yards rushing on 14 carriest. Ryan Kyle also threw a reverse pass to Quinn Reynolds for the Ghosts final score of the game. Linebacker Cooper Durgin and Sean Cryan had solid games on the defensive side of the ball.


The Ghosts are now focused on making improvements ahead of their next game this Friday at home, in the Haunted House. The game will feature a black-out student section theme to celebrate senior night for the football te



am. Students are encouraged to show up in full spirit and make some noise as the Ghosts take on Waltham.


As the season progresses, the Ghosts are determined to sharpen their skills and bounce back stronger. The coaching staff has been working closely with the team, focusing on key areas like defense and special teams to tighten up their game. Players are putting in extra hours on the field and in the weight room, driven by the goal of securing a victory on home turf. With senior night adding an extra layer of significance, the team is motivated to deliver a memorable performance for their classmates, families, and fans. All eyes will be on the Haunted House this Friday as Westford Academy seeks redemption and looks toward the DCL.
